2017 Acura MDX Debuts at 2016 New York International Auto Show

Acura MDX

The New York International Auto Show is where the best auto manufacturers reveal their latest designs. It’s where you go to see groundbreaking innovation in the auto industry. It’s more than a week-long event, this year running from Friday, March 25th to Sunday, April 3rd. So what can you expect from the show this year? Among other things, it marks the debut of the 2017 Acura MDX. The SUV features a new sheet metal design, along with new safety and tech features. It’s also going to be available in a new Sport Hybrid model.

Design

The new MDX is stylish and sleek, both inside and out. Not only does it have seating for seven, it features a new diamond pentagon grille design, previously seen on concept cars but never available on production vehicles until now. On either side of the grille are Jewel Eye headlights, along with LED fog lights, to help you maintain clear visibility no matter what conditions you’re driving in.

Technical Features

The 2017 Acura MDX is designed not only for style, but for luxury. That’s why it comes with two USB ports to sync two different devices, as a standard feature, along with Sirius XM Satellite Radio. If you want to go a notch above standard, you can get the Tech Package, which includes a few extra bells and whistles. There’s a keyless remote, power folding side mirrors, and HD traffic. Or, if you want to go a step beyond that and get the Advanced Package, you can have features like wood trim and a heated steering wheel.

Safety Features

Luxury is great, but the most important hallmark of any vehicle, particularly an SUV, is safety. After all, it’s going to carry your family and friends in it. It needs to be as safe for them as possible. Standard safety features include a braking system to mitigate collisions by applying emergency braking automatically when the vehicle senses danger. There’s also a lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, and much more. And if you get the Advance Package, you can also get surround-view cameras, to keep you alerted to everything that’s going on around your vehicle on all sides, so that you can deal with it promptly and safely. Just because you weren’t able to make it to the New York International Auto Show in person doesn’t mean you can’t experience the MDX for yourself. The 2017 Acura MDX is set to go on sale, with the MDX Sport Hybrid scheduled to debut not long after.
