2017 Acura NSX in Production!
The first 2017 Acura NSX has been delivered amid much fanfare. It’s been too many years since the first generation of Acura’s supercar ceased production after a 16-year run. While the original NSX was actually built in Japan, the newest version is assembled in Acura’s Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC) in Marysville, Ohio. Richard Hendrick of Hendrick Motorsports was the first customer to take delivery of the all-new Acura NSX. His was the winning bid at the January Barrett-Jackson auction for VIN 001 of the new series, and he was rewarded with an absolutely stunning masterpiece of automotive design and innovation.
Innovations of the Acura NSX
The 2017 Acura NSX has a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 assisted by three electric motors for a truly hybrid experience. Total power production is 573 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. The awesome engine is mated to a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) for the ultimate in crisp, powerful shifts. All this is enough to push the Acura NSX from a standstill to 60 miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds. There’s more to the NSX than just power. It’s a true competitor in the supercar category with fine finishing details including a paint job that takes more than 20 hours of painstaking work per car. The interior is wrapped in your choice of leather, and the cockpit-effect styling makes the Acura NSX a veritable driver’s car. The “base” model NSX has virtually every feature you could ask for. Jewel-Eye LED headlights, AcuraLink The Next Generation, Navigation, proximity sensors, and ELS Studio Premium Audio are all standard equipment. Extras can be installed. Lit door sill plates, the Tech Package, and SiriusXM are all add-ons that can be purchased should you desire. While the Acura NSX isn’t for everybody, pieces of the elite Acura machine are used in other Acura models. From safety systems to headlights, you’ll find much of the same technology in other models from the TLX to the RDX and MDX. Find the Acura model that’s right for you at Jay Wolfe Acura in Kansas City!
