Things to Do This Summer in Kansas City

The summer is flying by, but there’s plenty of time to get out into your city and enjoy it. Kansas City is chock full of good times, great eats, and some of the best entertainment the midwest has to offer. If you’re looking for things to do this summer in Kansas City, look no further.

Kansas City Zoo

You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy a day at the zoo. Built on 202 acres, there are more animals than you can imagine. African elephants, lions, polar bears, otters, monkeys, and reptiles of all kinds are found here at the Kansas City Zoo. And new to the zoo is an incredibly cute exhibit called Billy Goats Gruff. Make a day of your zoo experience – it’s a time the whole family will enjoy this summer in Kansas City.

Oceans of Fun

Kansas City’s favorite waterpark is located at the Worlds of Fun amusement park. At Oceans of Fun, the kid comes out in everyone. Head down one of the mild to wild slides, all part of the 17 adventures at Oceans of Fun. You’ll find Oceans of Fun just east of I-435, or just follow all the laughter and squeals of fun.

Antioch Park

A quieter day this summer in Kansas City starts at Antioch Park. The park is in its 60th year of existence and is a great place to visit. Throw a line in the water for an opportunity to hook the big one – but don’t forget your fishing license first. Picnic at the park on the wide open green lawns and check out the Helen S. Cuddy Rose Garden for a tranquil break.

Kansas City Royals Ballgame

On the east side of Kansas City off I-70, Kauffman Stadium hosts more than 80 Major League Baseball games for the hometown heroes, the Kansas City Royals. Grab a hot dog, popcorn, and mini donuts before heading to your seat to watch the first pitch. Win or lose, a Kansas City Royals game is an amazing experience on any summer day.
